Paula @ “Toys for Kids” (2008-07-05)istallazione Arriva a Roma la prima mostra di Toys benefica. Si, proprio così, “Toys for Kids” si differenzia da tutte le mostre di toys fin ora avvenute, per il motivo cardine per cui viene organizzata: raccogliere fondi di beneficenza per i bambini in difficoltà. Per due settimane il quartiere Testaccio, punto nevralgico del centro romano, verrà “attaccato” da una squadra di Toys customizzati, guidati dal team dello streetwear store La Santeria. Giocando attraverso il connubio di significati che possono essere letti in un giocattolo, “Toys for Kids" si propone di utilizzare questo nuovo mezzo espressivo come veicolo di riflessione per la raccolta di fondi per lʼassociazione “Save the Children”, la più grande organizzazione internazionale indipendente per la difesa e la promozione dei diritti dei bambini, che opera in oltre 100 paesi nel mondo. I toys, volgarmente tradotti giocattoli, hanno assunto nel corso degli ultimi anni un aspetto completamente diverso. Oggetti di design che richiamano a se milioni di appassionati in tutto al mondo, sono uno dei nuovi strumenti utilizzati da artisti e designer, per esternare il loro estro artistico. Dal Giappone agli Stati Uniti la moda del toys design a preso varie forme, grazie alle diverse società in circolazione che continuano ad alimentare il mercato. Una delle voci più forti in Italia è “Atomic Plastic”, la quale è stata lieta di partecipare all’iniziativa consentendo ad alcuni dei più importanti artisti del panorama italiano di personalizzare i loro toys. Alla radice di questo progetto lo streetwear store La Santeria. Attivo dal 2006, ogni giorno Andrea, Francesco e Federico, formano il pubblico romano sulle ultime tendenze in fatto di stile.
